Physical Education
The Judkins Physical Education Program is co-educational and develops each student's knowledge, athletic skills, social development and physical conditioning. Both grade levels have a heavy emphasis on functional fitness.
- 7th grade PE focuses on traditional sports and activities
- 8th grade PE focuses on non-traditional sports and activities
The students are provided with rigorous fitness elements, sports and games, aerobic training, and after school sports programs. The PE Department requires a blue t-shirt and blue or black athletic shorts or pants. PE clothes must be different from the clothes a student wears to school. Closed-toe, non-marking, athletic shoes must be worn. Judkins PE uniforms can be purchased through PE classes if you want our logo. Failure to wear the PE uniform renders the student unable to participate in class. Loaner PE clothes are available upon request.
8th Grade Sexual Health Unit:
Near the end of the second semester, all 8th grade students complete a course in sexual health in accordance with CA mandates. This course occurs during their PE class and content is delivered by their PE teacher. Passive consent is utilized and a parent meeting is held in the Spring to discuss content and answer questions. Parents may waiver their student from portions or the entire unit by submitting this request in writing.
