English Language Development Program - ELD

Instruction for the English Language Learners Development Program at Judkins Middle School is driven by the newly adopted California English Language Development Standards.  The focus is on English Language Proficiency in each of the four strands:

• Listening
• Speaking
• Reading
• Writing

LMUSD has adopted INSIDE as the official curriculum for the course. These texts use highly interactive lessons to bring language to life. We believe in a strong home-school connection as a key component to the success of each ELD student.  Family involvement and participation during the year is greatly encouraged.  Our ultimate goal is for these students to eventually be “reclassified” as English proficient!
