Today begins National Hispanic Heritage Month., which we celebrate from September 15th to October 15th in the United States. The month recognizes the contributions and influences of Hispanic Americans to history, culture, and achievements for the United States. Please help celebrate by reading the mini biographies that the AVID 8 students wrote and posted in the hallway.

We will be starting peer tutoring for Math and Language during advisory on Wednesday and Thursday of next week…please go to Ms. Wozniak’s Google Classroom for more info on how to sign up.

The Genders & Sexualities Alliance or Judkins GSA club meets Wednesdays at lunch in room 5. It is a social club for students of diverse LGBTQ+ identities and allies. This week, the club will be meeting Thursday instead of today, all are welcome.

If you are staying for the volleyball game after school you must remain on the blacktop at the blue tables until the game opens. No exceptions. Once the gym opens you must remain the student section. You will not be allowed to hang out around the campus.

JOI Club meets today at lunch in Rm. 20 with Mrs. Pierce. Please bring your application with you to be official and receive cookies! Also, students who need to RETEST the “Window” Quiz can come and do that at Lunch. Thanks!

The first cross country practice begins at 2:30 PM today by the upper soccer goals. Please change before practice.

Congratulations to the 7th grade girls volleyball team for a fantastic performance at yesterday’s tournament. The team placed 2nd in pool play but were eventually defeated in the finals. Congrats to the entire team and also a BIG SHOUT OUT to both Emerie Wellman and London Hicinbothom for their outstanding play and being chosen Players of the Tournament!!!

The 8th grade girls Volleyball team will be playing in a tournament today at St. Pats. Good Luck Panthers!

Happy September! The school Tardy Policy is officially in effect STARTING TODAY! Any tardies from the beginning of the year have been removed and you have a clean slate! You have had time to learn your schedules and figure out how to navigate the campus. From this points forward, 5 tardies will result in lunch detention.

There are no more schedule changes being made unless you have a concern about the academic level of your placement.

Teachers, make sure to check your email for the names of students who need to go to the Library now for the Administrative Discipline Talk. Thank you.

If you missed Wednesday’s Mock Trial meeting at lunch but still want to tryout, see Ms. Maier in room 14 during break. Mock Trial applications are due on Monday, and tryouts begin next Tuesday & Wednesday.

Starting Tuesday, there will be no more schedule changes. Remember, we do not move schedules for preferred teachers or periods.

Announcements in Mrs. Wozniaks google classroom have been posted, if you haven’t joined the classroom you are missing out! See the classroom for peer tutoring options!

Mr. Mike check in: Trash this week was pretty good. There were some pieces left behind here and there, but you have earned your phones Panthers!! Remember that electronics may only be powered on today at break and lunch. Use them appropriately and turn them off as soon as break and lunch are over.
